Not Me Monday!

In the last few weeks:
  • I did NOT almost fail my summer class thanks to ONE stupid final and a dumb professor. Not me! I'm a straight A student and I never ever perform poorly on tests!
  • I did NOT go out with a group of friends and get told by a guy who I thought was hitting on me that he was actually interested in my friend. It did NOT actually irritate me a little, even though I have the most wonderful man in the world.
  • I did NOT wish that I yelled at a guy at the same bar when he spilled his drink all over the back of my legs (and my white shorts).
  • On the first day of my clinical rotation today at a hospital, I did NOT reflexively sprint for the door when a sweet elederly patient grabbed the trash can and said he was going to vomit after my treatment.
  • I did NOT sit for an hour and eat lunch in the cafeteria by myself. I am super cool and always have friends to eat with.
  • I did NOT make plans to spend my lunch hour tomorrow napping in my car as opposed to sitting in the caf. NOPE!

What have you "not" done recently? Head over to MckMama's blog to read more funnies!

The Dress.

Once upon a time (aka 3 weeks ago) I ordered a dress from express.com to wear to a June 20th wedding. When it became painfully obvious that FedEx was trying to ruin my life and not deliver the dress in time...I had to take matters into my own hands.

So I went to the store and bought the dress. Again. Now I have purchased this dress twice for just under $140. Stupid, right?
Wrong! I'm just working the system people! I'm going to take the one that I get in the mail back and get to keep the one I wore for the bargain price of $50. Whoo!!!

at the wedding....

Needless to say, the hassle was completely worth it...cause the dress was amazing!!! And I have Chelsea to thank for talking me into buying it!!

PS- The ordered dress STILL hasn't come. Ridiculous.

New Room and Pina Coladas

Finally got my new curtains hung and pillows placed (all courtesy of my incredibly talented mom and her 16+ hours on the sewing machine!) So....here's the pictures!! (I know you've all been waiting with baited breath!)

^^PT books in the closet!

________________________________________________
On another note, the other day my group of PT friends were walking out of the building after a particularly grueling day of lecture and lab (5 hours worth). We emerged into a cloudless, sunny, perfect summer day....and we started lamenting the fact that we were stuck in class and not out by the pool. Someone mentioned that we needed to lay out by the pool and drink pina coladas...which prompted the entire group (no joke, there were at least 7 of us) spontaneously burst into a rousing rendition of "Escape". (Also known as "If you like pina coladas-bum bum bum- and gettin caught in the rain...")

It was straight out of a movie...7 girls singing cheesy kareoke randomly!

Then today, I'm only half listening to the TV and all of a sudden I hear...

"If you like pina coladas...."

I look up to notice that Taco Bell has taken the song and changed the words into this:

My personal favorite? The falsetto "if you hate fillin' out your timesheets!"

Update on Life

  • I'm finally all moved in, but still struggling with feeling "normal" living here. I'm not particularly happy right now...but I'm sure it will get better. I'm immensely looking forward to a relaxing weekend in Tulsa with my family (minus studying for an electro midterm).
  • As soon as my mom finishes my curtains, I'm going to post pictures of my new room. I've got it decorated quite cute (if I do say so myself), but want to wait for the final touches to share!
  • Suprisingly enough, I'm completely ready to start in the clinic. I can't wait to remember WHY I want to be a PT again.

Finally, a bit of news:

  • If I can manage to get tickets online, I will be attending THIS in July.

Wish me luck--Paul's last US concert in April sold out online in a record-shattering 7 seconds.

Dear God: Please give me the speedy fingers. And a fast internet connection. Amen.
